Knott’s Invites Guests to Play in the World of the Iconic PEANUTS Gang During the Newly Extended “Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration”

The multi-weekend celebration features PEANUTS-inspired comic strip photo ops, new entertainment, family-friendly activities and festive park-wide décor, weekends starting January 26 – March 10, 2019

Buena Park, Calif. – Knott’s Berry Farm is starting 2019 with two additional weekends of the Knott’sPEANUTS Celebration, an event uniquely dedicated to celebrating the beloved PEANUTS Gang. Knott’sinvites guests to step into the iconic world of Charles M. Schulz comic strips as the characters take over the entire theme park with special activities for everyone to enjoy. The newly-extended celebration will take place on weekends beginning January 26th through March 10th plus President’s day, February 18th. The limited time event will welcome fans of all ages to join in on the fun by introducing new ways for guests to play and interact with the PEANUTS Gang throughout the park. The celebration includes interactive character experiences, new festive PEANUTS inspired décor, more vibrant comic strip photo opportunities, live shows, festive merchandise, and deliciously themed-treats.

The celebration will have plenty of surprises hidden around every corner. One-of-a-kind photo opportunities will be available throughout the park allowing guests to step inside a PEANUTS comic strip for a unique and shareable memory. The vibrant décor will include full-size comic strip props like CharlieBrown’s kites and his renowned thought bubbles which will adorn the park’s pathways. Guests will havethe chance to meet with the beloved PEANUTS characters throughout the day as the characters appear at unexpected locations for personal interactions.

Camp Snoopy Theater will debut the all-new Space Beagle show featuring Charlie Brown and Lucy, asthe world’s famous beagle becomes the first dog on the moon. It’s out of this world fun for the wholefamily. Also in Camp Snoopy, the Grand Sierra Railroad invites kids to celebrate with the PEANUTS Gang as they head to the Beagle Bonanza in this fun ride overlay.

The PEANUTS inspired festivities will continue at the Bird Cage Theatre as the park offers an experience that gives both the young and the young at heart a lesson on how to draw their favorite PEANUTS characters. The PEANUTS Sketch School will include our resident art teacher who will provide step by step instructions on how to draw the perfect PEANUTS masterpiece.

Franklin and Linus are on a Western escapade as they transform into cowboys in the PEANUTS Cowboy Jamboree at Calico Park. The boys are looking to challenge guests with some of the rootiniest, tootinestgames in Calico. Also in Ghost Town, everyone’s favorite messy pal, Pig Pen will be joining the rest of the PEANUTS Gang as he hosts a special meetup at the Livery Stables with some of his favorite animalfriends. The celebration will also add a brand new overlay to one of the park’s tallest attractions. SkyCabin will be donning a festive overlay as an homage to the smallest member of the PEANUTS Gang, bytransforming into Woodstock’s Bird’s-Eye View. Guests will be seated on Woodstock’s nest as theloveable yellow bird takes those aboard on a breathtaking journey above the entire PEANUTS Celebration.

The celebration continues at the Calico Mine Stage where the PEANUTS characters have two musical surprises for guests. During the day Sally and Schroder will host a retrospect of music in The Music GoesRound and Round where they’ll have the audience dancing in the aisles. At nightfall, the stage willtransform into a musical extravaganza as the park hosts Woodstock’s Musical Festival. The musicalevent will feature the Peanuts Gang joined by the family-friendly indie band The Jelly of the Month Club, performing a high energy rock concert for the whole family. While visiting Fiesta Village guests canuncover an experience that is guaranteed to make everyone dance with the park’s first ever, Discotecade Silencio or also known as a silent disco. Hundreds of Universal Studios Hollywood employee’s volunteers came together in partnership with M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need with Dignity) to bring merriment and joy to 1,000 family members living in poverty for it’s annual “Christmas in Spring” philanthropic event held on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

 

 

As part of its annual “Christmas in Spring” community outreach event, hundreds of Universal Studios Hollywood employee volunteers will come together in partnership with M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need with Dignity) to bring goodwill to 1,000 guests, including families, in need.

Celebrating its 27thyear, “Christmas in Spring” has touched the lives of over 16,000 family members living in poverty in the San Fernando Valley, providing them with holiday cheer during a time of year when their needs are often overlooked.

This New Year’s Eve, round out a full day of family fun on the Farm with Knott’s Merry Farm’s festive lineup of entertainment, delectable foods and holiday shopping! Guests won’t want to miss:

  • Merry Christmas, Snoopy!, in this exciting show filled with whimsy and spectacular ice skating, Snoopy enjoys all of the best parts of the season, including trimming the Christmas tree, awaiting Santa’s arrival and attending the festive Christmas Ball!
  • When the sun sets on the Farm, the buildings and paths in Ghost Town will twinkle to the beat of holiday music while snow gently falls. This year, snow falls across even more of Ghost Town, from the School House to the Saloon and down to the Assay Office.

  • Over in Camp Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, and Lucy invite you to dance, sing and join in on the holiday fun in the live show, Christmas Time is Here, Charlie Brown in the Camp Snoopy Theatre.
  • In the intimate setting of Ghost Town’s historic Bird Cage Theatre, catch a live performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol or O. Henry’s The Gift of the Magi.
  • Savor the ultimate comfort foods with Knott’s world-famous holiday treats. Santa’s Christmas Cabin serves up holiday delights like Santa’s homemade cookies, mouthwatering pastries, winter wine, craft beer, fresh made-to-order maple lollipops, and more. Guests can also enjoy churros from the Churro Factory, cakes, cookies, muffins, as well as the legendary cooking at Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
  • Relax and unwind in Knott’s Christmas Crafts Village, as Ghost Town transforms into a shopping wonderland filled with dozens of local artisans selling their unique gifts. Can’t-miss highlights of the Village include powerful chainsaw sculpting and elegant glass blowing demonstrations.

The Ice Kingdom Introduces the New Holiday Ice Bar

The Queen Mary will once again be overtaken by a deep freeze for the fourth annual CHILL, opening onNovember 20, 2015. Experience the frozen magic that will bring holiday wonderment and artic temperatures to Southern California.

A holiday extravaganza like no other, CHILL transforms over two million pounds of sparkling ice into larger than life hand carved colorful ice sculptures in a giant Igloo called The Ice Kingdom, located inside the Queen Mary’s Dome, once home to the legendary Spruce Goose. The Ice Kingdom will bring Charles Dickens’ classic tale of A Christmas Carol to life with Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come frozen in glistening ice. Walk-through chilling scenes from the Nutcracker complete with castles and sugar plum fairies. Get lost in the life size candy cane forest and explore the penguin village. Slip down ice slides off of a 30’ high replica of The Queen Mary and enjoy a festive cocktail at the all-new ice bar aboard the ship’s frozen bow. Each ice exhibit is precisely hand sculpted and created by an international team of expert ice carved from Harbin, China and enhanced with LED lighting to create a visually awing experience. The Ice Kingdom is kept at a frosty nine degrees Fahrenheit to preserve the ice. Guests receive parkas to help protect them from the chilling temperatures.

The 4th annual CHILL welcomes back Glacier Glide Ice Tubing with six lanes of glistening ice slides standing two stories tall and 100-feet long in front of the Ice Kingdom. Ice skate under the stars on the 6,000 square-foot ice skating rink with the backdrop of the picturesque Queen Mary ship. A holiday village will offer visits with Santa Claus, holiday carolers, snow days and live festive entertainment.
