Check-in to The Queen Mary’s MOST HAUNTED Cabin Stateroom B340 Room Reservations Open Friday, April 13

The Queen Mary, dubbed one of the “Top 10 most haunted places on Earth” by Time Magazine, is pleased to announce the notoriously haunted Stateroom B340 will once again be available for overnight guests starting Friday, April 13th. Featured on SYFY Channel’s  Ghost Hunters and the British TV series Most Haunted, room B340 offers thrill seekers and scare enthusiasts the unique opportunity to spend the night in the axiom of all alleged paranormal activity at the Queen Mary. Room reservations will be available at 877-342-0742.

“Several of the cabins onboard the Queen Mary are considered haunted. But, the stateroom with the most infamous reputation is room B340,” said Stephen Sowards, General Manager of the Queen Mary. “The last time the room was occupied by a guest was in the 1980’s. For decades we’ve had thousands of visitors request to occupy the room, and after 30 years, we are excited to once again extend the offer to our guests.”

Stateroom B340 has a large volume of recorded paranormal activity with many stories of haunted encounters noted in the ship’s logs. Reports date back to the final ocean voyage in 1967 and include complaints from guests staying in B340 claiming that someone was knocking on the door in the middle of the night. Other complaints include bathroom lights turning on by themselves, the sink faucet turning on and off on its own, and unexplained bathroom doors shutting. Some guests have reported the covers of their bed being pulled off while asleep and waking to see a dark figure standing at the foot of the bed.

During voyage years, the space encompassed three third class staterooms, and has since been remodeled to become one large guest room suite. A perfect blend of authentic style and modern amenities, B340 is larger than the average cruise ship cabin. Featuring operable portholes and offering all the modern conveniences of a contemporary hotel, the famously haunted stateroom offers a true ocean liner experience. In addition to standard hotel room amenities, B340 will supply a chest with unique items available for guests to amplify their overnight haunt experience, including a Ouija board, tarot cards, crystal ball, and ghost hunting equipment.

The Queen Mary’s year-long haunted attractions and tours continue to draw thrill-seekers of all ages in 2018 with continued updates and enhancements. Since its soft opening in winter of 2017, the re-inspired Ghosts and Legends Tour has added more frights with a new scene, more ambient lighting, and elevated scare factors all in hopes to strengthen the presence of the Queen Mary’s resident ghosts. Additional haunted attractions offered onboard the Queen Mary include Paranormal Shipwalk, Dining with Spirits, and Paranormal Investigation. The Paranormal Investigation tour invites guests to join ship para-investigator and ParaXplorer Project founder Matthew Schulz as he leads visitor investigators into the depths of the RMS Queen Mary’s purported active locations.

Cabin reservations for stateroom B340 will be available for booking Friday, April 13, 2018 and start at $499 per night. Reservations are available at 877-342-0742.  Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m.  For more information, or to purchase tickets for the haunted attractions and tours, please visit queenmary.com

The Cauldron Casts a Spell in Buena Park

On a moonlight night, across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm arises a new bar/restaurant that will immerse you into the wonderfully spooky dwelling of Witches and Spooks alike. The Cauldron Spirits and Brews is NOW open for all to experience, the tavern-like lounge with an atmosphere that is inviting to get together with dear friends and talk about the spooky things in life over a drink. Celebrating it the evening of it’s grand opening are the many people who helped bring it to life alongside the Creator/Owner Lara Hanneman, people of the press and of the City of Buena Park. An evening of welcoming this new magical and spooky place in the heart of Buena Park.

UO5A0529wtmk

The Cauldron is more than just a bar, there is also a whole menu that features French-casual bites with a wicked twist, local craft
beer, themed cocktails and a wine from various regions in California. Their house spirit “Drink”, The Grey Witch, is wonderfully delectable and refreshing. But there is more than what meets the eye. Our personal favorite treat from the menu are the Bacon Jams, if you love Bacon, be sure to try this smoky and sweet treat when you visit. Our other favorite item is the Boeuf Bourguignon which is a delicious French Beef Stew made famous by the late Julia Child. Keep in mind when planning your visit to the cauldron that the kitchen is open until 11:0 p.m.

The menu and atmosphere is tailored and created by the brilliant, Lara Hanneman. Having worked as Creative Director for Knott’s Berry and Scary Farm, she brought her talent, imagination, taste and eye to this new and exciting establishment. Lara and her team poured so much passion into creating this Witch themed Bar/restaurant/Lounge, all who enter will fall in love with the atmosphere and magic. This is truly a wonderful and unique place that one should not miss out on. As someone who LOVES everything spooky, I immediately got excited when I heard about it and the people who are behind it. When we entered the tavern, it is everything that I hoped for and so much more.

There is so much to take in from the artwork (which is featuring art by many amazing and talented local artists), the magic, and the secrets. From the magic glass over the fireplace where ghosts and spirits visit the tavern to the cauldron that is always bubbling. With Magic, Nothing is EVER as it seems, with The Cauldron comes surprises. One can discover the secret room… perhaps when approaching the Book Case. MWHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA!  3:)

Overall this is an amazing new place where one who is looking for an immersive and magical evening should visit. Perhaps, even those who are looking to embrace the spookiness of life or even visit with their coven. This is a definite MUST for those who love Horror and Halloween. There is magic and secrets awaiting for those who visit The Cauldron. The Cauldron Spirits and Brews is open Wednesday – Sunday from 2:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. And is located literally across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm.

I hope you enjoy this look inside The Cauldron. More Info on The Cauldron Spirits and Brews is provided down below.

Knott’s Scary Farm: What Lurks Within – Dress Rehearsals

Days before opening night of Knott’s Scary Farm, everyone has to be trained on the operations of the event, so everything runs smoothly and is wonderfully terrifying. There is a hustle and bustle of everyone from build, wardrobe, cast and crew to prepare for the opening of Scary Farm. The day we visited they were focusing on training monsters, black out and guest control for mazes. We saw this process for Paranormal Inc.,Voodoo, and Toothfairy. It will be the first time all of these teams work the maze with guests (guests meaning street monsters who are going through). It is wonderful to see the excitement on the faces of all the streets monsters from Fiesta De Los Muertos, The Hollows, Carnevil and Ghost Town. They are waiting in anticipation to have a good scare from their monster brothers and sisters. Also, since these monsters will always be in the streets, this gives them the opportunity to experience these mazes and to see what the design and build team created.

UO5A8786wtmk

The First People you encounter at Scary Farm when you head towards your maze of choice is Guest Control, a team of people with white shirts and black ties. They guide you to ensure you get in line for your maze of choice for either Gen. Admission or Fright Lane. When you are in line, they keep line flow at a good pace and count groups for specific mazes that have pre-shows so it is not too many people with you but just enough to ensure a steady pace of line flow.

UO5A8811wtmk

We interviewed Donald and Deanna, Guest Control from Toothfairy. They informed us what is gone over during dress rehearsals,

“I’m explaining to them what to do with Guest Control, informing them about the maze, controlling the guests, keeping the maze clean and safe.” -Donald

“Our main job for Guest Control pretty much is keeping everyone in order, how many people come in, and we have the clicker right here.”

-Deanna

Inside the maze looking after the monsters, ensuring their safety and guiding you when the maze becomes confusing or super dark are The Blackouts. Even though they maybe invisible at times, they are always there, lurking in the shadows. Before the monsters of streets head into Paranormal Inc. for a scare, Bonnie (the team leader for blackouts for Paranormal and it’s her very first year working Scary Farm), gathers her army of blackouts and goes over the safety and daily procedures. Also what to do when guests want out and everything to know about the maze. Also she gets them excited for another year of Scary Farm. During her meeting with the blackouts she states,

“Just know I am here for you guys, we are all a team: line control, talent, all of us. We got each other’s backs.”

-Bonnie

UO5A8767wtmk

With every department from Monsters lead by the Cast Lead, Guest Control and Black Outs working together creates a great system for the maze to be terrifying and safe. When we head in, some monsters are in their masks and costume and some are there without that but their characters show through movement, scare and facial expression. Everyone is energetic and on point, it is wonderful that they are given dress rehearsal to get in the groove of their characters and environment. You can see all the action of Paranormal Inc. and Voodoo in our video below.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our article and video. Thank you to the people of Guest Control and Black Outs for ensuring the best and safe experiences at Scary Farm. We here at the Knott’s Network are grateful for your dedication and for what you do. Thank You ❤ Scary Farm starts up again this Thursday, so be sure not to miss out. We will see you all soon… In The Fog.

TERRIFYING NEW NIGHTMARES IN STORE FOR THE 45TH SEASON OF KNOTT’S SCARY FARM. “Where Nightmares Never End…”

The most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, Knott’s Scary Farm, returns with unimaginable scares and innovative thrills for its 45th season. The fully transformed park will feature 13 uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, including the return of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for her last performance as she bids farewell to the Scary Farm crowds with an all-new show. Knott’s Scary Farm is back for 25 horrifying nights from September 21 – October 31. This year’s Knott’s Scary Farm experience has all the ingredients of a truly terrifying nightmare, but unlike most dreams, Knott’s Scary Farm is a nightmare you can’t wake up from.

The new season will bring unnerving nightmares to life as it debuts three all-new, unique haunted attractions, each introducing new menacing storylines and heinous never-before- seen characters.

Dark Ride (New for 2017) – Guests will journey through an abandoned carnival ride where cruel characters still linger in the shadows in Dark Ride, Knott’s Scary Farm’s newest maze. The carnival attraction has become a refuge for sideshow freaks and now those shunned performers have created an ominous world where they plan to unleash terror on those who enter. Dark Ride will lead brave visitors through a treacherous path and into the bowels of a long neglected attraction as sinister shadows and horrifyingscenes cast darkness over the once pleasant ride.Dark Ride Hero Image With Logo

Pumpkin Eater (New for 2017) – Daring guests will attempt to survive the wrath of the murderous 7-foot tall creature that haunts the old woods surrounding The Hollow in this year’s new maze, Pumpkin Eater. The notorious creature is on the prowl, hidden within the dark

confines of the haunted town he once terrorized. To escape the sinister Pumpkin Eater’s wrath all who enter must go on a quest through the silent town of victims, face a cave of crawling insects and solve the labyrinth of thorns that blocks the only way out.Pumpkin Eater Hero Image With Logo 1080p

Trick-or-Treat: Lights Out (New for 2017) – Scared of the dark? Returning more sinister and twisted than ever before, guests are invited to step inside the Green Witch’s haunted home and venture through its dark pathways in Trick or Treat: Lights Out. Armed with only a faulty flashlight, brave visitors must face the terror of the Green Witch’s house completely in the dark. Featuring new state-of-the-art effects, unexpected scares and other eerie surprises, Trick-or- Treat is back to terrorize like never before.Trick-or-Treat_Lights-Out-Hero-Image-With-Logo-1080p

Returning Favorites

Returning for the last and final year at Knott’s Scary Farm, Elvira is back with a bang, in a brand new spectacular farewell show, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. The exclusive performance will pay homage to the Queen of Halloween’s celebrated comedy-horror film, complete with musical numbers, dance and humor. Knott’s Scary Farm will be the exclusive home of Elvira for her final performance this Halloween season.Elvira - Mistress of the Dark

Special Ops: Infected – The city is in need of brave soldiers looking to stop the zombie apocalypse in an all-out war against the undead in this interactive experience, Special Ops: Infected. Armed with specially designed laser guns, brave groups of guests will embark on a mission to find the cure to the infection by navigating through sprawling city streets and buildings. The popular attraction includes blood thirsty zombies, more interactive targets than ever before, along with multiple action-packed surprises hidden around every corner.Special Ops Infected 2017 Hero Image with logo

Shadow Lands – A fulfilling life ensures a soul safe passage into eternity, but what happens to the souls of soldiers slain in battle? The Shadow Lands maze invites valiant wanderers to fight off demon samurais whose souls are cursed to rot within the depths of purgatory. Guests will embark on a quest through a sacred shrine, an ancient Japanese temple and into the midst of the shadow lands.Shadow Lands Hero Image with Logo Slide

PARANORMAL, INC. – A fan favorite, Paranormal Inc., returns to Hayden Hill for another bone-chilling year. Featuring high flying aerial stunts and scares, guests investigate a haunted

hospital. Where demonic spirits have been detected throughout the mysterious halls and new unexpected bloodcurdling surprises are hidden around every corner.Paranormal Inc Hero with Logo Slide

Red Barn – The horrifying, blood-soaked Red Barn re-opens its doors, filled with carnivorous animals seeking to prey on human flesh in the park’s goriest maze. Legend has it, the farmer who owns the barn was transformed into a heinous creature who sends his sadistic sons to procure food and new victims. None dare enter the barn, for those who enter, never escape.Red Barn Hero Image with logo slide

The Tooth Fairy – This twisted tooth fairy steals more than just baby teeth as he drags his victims out of their bedroom window and into a world of cruel dentistry. Unbelievable special effects include a blackout room through which guests must feel their way out, a disorienting x- ray strobe light room, and a final encounter with the terrifying tooth fairy himself. Say aahhh.Tooth Fairy

Voodoo – Order of the Serpent: The haunting legend of Papa Legba continues as guests follow him on his foreboding journey to conjure the serpent demon goddess in the outskirts of New Orleans. Trudge cautiously through the cursed swamps of the Deep South, where creatures search the murky bogs for their next bloody sacrifice and demons curse the innocent with Voodoo hexes.Voodoo

The Hanging®: – A live stage show on the Calico Mine stage irreverently looks back at the year’s pop culture with killer comedy. Notorious for its special effects, pyrotechnics and high- flying stunts, The Hanging is a no-holds-barred assault on pop culture’s most infamous moments of the past year. A must see parody!

Scare Zones

Knott’s Scary Farm is far more than a collection of haunted attractions. Every night monsters spill out onto the streets and turn theme park midways into murderous scare zones. From the world famous Ghost Town Streets to the Boardwalk area filled with evil clowns, there’s nowhere to hide at Knott’s Scary Farm. The Hanging Fake Noose 2017

Ghost Town Streets is the original and largest, most terrifying scare zone that started it all. Bands of half-human, half-animal monsters prowl the streets and inhabit the fog, while the notoriously startling sliders lunge from every fog-filled corner of the land. Fiesta De Los Muertos features colorful costumes and larger than life stilt walkers in a dark scare zone. In the

Boardwalk, clowns crave your undying attention in the CarnEVIL scare zone. Returning for a second year, The Hollow scare zone will terrorize guests as they find themselves in a war between three covens of witches and their armies of the undead. The fog-filled streets along with the army of the undead treacherously blend into the shadowy night as they frighten all whom they encounter. Featuring an all new fiery finale, The Hollow is a practically all new with a themed maze to accompany it.

Knott’s Scary Farm Opening Weekend Review and Tips! 2016

Knott’s Scary Farm is finally here, we spent the first 3 nights taking it all in. We’re going to talk about tips, new mazes, experiences and more!

We have spent the whole weekend at the Knott’s Hotel, which was refurbished little over a year ago and it’s the best way to enjoy opening weekend or any night of Scary Farm! They have Scary Farm hotel packages that can gets you a T-Shirt, Fright Lane, Fast Lane, Pre-Scare Dinner at the Hotel, and tickets to the event! The Pre-Scare Dinner is a great way to start the night, you get to visit with the monsters that will end up scaring you later on in the night 😉 Also, you get to take photos with them, and you get into Scary Farm 30 mins early! We recommend going to the backstage mazes first, or whichever maze you would like to go to first. Right now, Shadowlands and Infected are the most popular, Paranormal INC.  still brings in a crowd.

Pass Holders can also get discounts for the Scary Farm Hotel Packages visit https://www.knotts.com/places-to-stay for all the info and reservations.

Tip on the Skeleton Key rooms: We recommend visiting those first, they can get crowed on busy nights and the rooms take time to reset. The rest of the mazes will not be a problem since you have “Fright Lane”.

img_4063

Tip for guests not using Fright Lane: Right now Infected and Shadowlands are the most popular we recommend checking those out first. They are AMAZING!!!

img_5154

Tip for Guests that want to ride the new Ghostrider: The line can get pretty long, lots of people that visit Scary Farm only go to it during Scary Farm. So, try to hit it up at the end of the night because the ride still operates past closing for the remaining line that is there before they rope off the line at closing.

img_5468

FEAR VR

An upcharge virtual reality experience, Mary and I got a change to check it out the night before opening Scary Farm. I was scared lol I don’t like Hospitals very much and…. I don’t want to give out too much but I would defiantly try it out. Its located in Boardwalk (CarnEvil) at The Ballroom near the Log Ride, they have a both set up across from it, its first come first serve so if you want to do this and you don’t have Fright Lanes get to this first

img_7697

Shadowlands

Hello…. This is Mary putting in my two cents on my favorite new maze of 2016! For many years I have always wanted to see Geishas be incorporated with anything horror… I LOVE Japanese art, culture, history, and above all sushi… mmmmmmmm. LOL, but seriously, this maze is amazing! It does the Japanese horror folklore justice and it is so damn beautiful and rich with detail. There is so many innovative scares, use of technology and the cast is on point! I also love the preshow! It is a beautiful death on the battlefield 3:) You should get yourself over there first thing in the evening because the line gets crazy!! This is a NOT TO MISS attraction at Knott’s Scary Farm! Props to Jon Cooke and his team for putting together this fantastic maze!

Infected

This season of Infected is now a walk through maze and it is amazing, OMG!!! I’ve been a fan of Infected since year one and this is amazingly put together, the details are great, the soundtrack is great and lighting… it’s all wow. It’s full of Easter eggs and scary surprises, we got a sneak peek at it the other night but there were no monsters inside and we have yet to see it with the monsters, but we will soon and I’m sure it’s even more amazing. Props to Jon Cooke and the Team involved. Ya’ll are Amazing J Tim.

The Red Barn

Really enjoyed this one, reminded me of Slaughter House J I like the idea of Hill Billy Red Neck Cannibals very scary plus the maze was done at The Wilderness Dance Hall which already looks like a red barn… also when your inside if you look up, it still looks like a barn 😉 We love the twisted minds of Daniel and Gus.

img_4014

P.S. from Mary….. Fog Rainbows 😉

We will continue to give you tips during Scary Farm and our weekend Video will be up soon.

OINGO BOINGO DANCE PARTY ANNOUNCED AS HEADLINER FOR MIDSUMMER SCREAM’S NOCHE DE LOS MUERTOS BASH!

Johnny Vatos, Steve Bartek, John Avila and Other Original Members of Oingo Boingo Set to Rock Long Beach Convention Center During Nighttime Party on Saturday, July 30th, 2016

LOS ANGELES, May 11, 2016 – Let’s have a party, there’s a full moon in the sky! Midsummer Scream is thrilled to announce Oingo Boingo Dance Party will headline its Noche de los Muertos (Night of the Dead) celebration and costume contest at the Long Beach Convention Center Saturday evening July 30th, 2016.
Oingo Boingo Dance Party is comprised of former Oingo Boingo members Johnny Vatos, Steve Bartek, John Avila, Sam “Sluggo” Phipps, Carl Graves and Doug Lacy, along with a host of other wildly-talented musicians that keep the legacy of the iconic band alive and thriving for fans of multiple generations.
Known for their unique sound which includes explosive percussion, electrifying guitar riffs and a full horns section, Oingo Boingo’s extensive song catalogue includes Only a Lad, Little Girls, Weird Science, No One Lives Forever, and the venerable Dead Man’s Party. The band hosted Halloween shows in Irvine each year at the height of its popularity, with thousands of “Tender Lumplings” – the given nickname for their adoring fans – showing up in costumes and skeletal makeup, as the underlying thematic style of the group commonly centered around Dia de los Muertos.
“Oingo Boingo was synonymous with Halloween here in Southern California in the ‘80s and ‘90s,” said Rick West, Creative Director of Midsummer Scream. “What better way to launch our event than a concert featuring these legendary performers doing what they do best as Oingo Boingo Dance Party? To me, bringing these musicians and the haunt and horror community together under one roof is a no-brainer. They’re going to bring the house down!”
Oingo Boingo Dance Party will headline Midsummer Scream’s 21+ nighttime event, Noche de los Muertos, featuring a Best & Worst of the ‘80s Costume Contest, which will be judged by the band members themselves during the middle of their 90-minute concert performance. Midsummer Scream attendees are encouraged to dress up in their best – or worst – ‘80s Halloween costumes and strut their stuff across the stage as Johnny Vatos, Steve Bartek, John Avila, Sluggo and the gang cast final judgment!
For the ultimate Boingo fans in attendance, a limited amount of “Tender Lumpling Experience” passes are now available for purchase, which offers admission to the Noche de los Muertos party, as well as a personal meet-and-greet opportunity with the band that includes photos and autograph signing prior to the concert.
“Having Oingo Boingo Dance Party as part of our event was something the team wanted to do from the get-go,” said Gary Baker, Executive Producer of Midsummer Scream. “Very quickly, Johnny Vatos and the band were interested, which set everything in motion. We’re going to put on a show that no one will soon forget.”
Face-painters will be on hand to transform guests into fearsome skeletons or sweet sugar skulls if they’d like before and during the party for a small price – perhaps a golden coin, or a shiny silver dollar on either eye.
Tickets for Noche de los Muertos featuring Oingo Boingo Dance Party are now on sale at http://www.MidsummerScream.org, and will be sold throughout the day Saturday July 30th including at the door. Tender Lumpling Experience passes will sell out extremely fast – there is a frightfully limited supply!
