Electrifying Entertainment

Los Angeles Water Park Opens for the Season May 28

Back with a splash, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is ready to keep Southern Californian’s cool all summer long with over 25 unique slides and attractions for the entire family. The water park season kicks off Saturday, May 28 for weekends including Memorial Day on May 30, and will be open daily beginning June 11.

“Hurricane Harbor continues to be the perfect summer gathering spot for friends and families of all ages,” stated Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Park President, Don McCoy. “The water park provides unlimited fun for the whole family with a wide variety of thrilling water adventures. We’re excited for the fun summer season ahead,” he added.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor attractions feature a variety of thrills for everyone including:

  • Adrenaline Seekers – Among the park’s most thrilling attractions is Taboo Tower, a 75- foot tall tower featuring three different speed slides, including one with a staggering 45- degree straight drop. Another favorite among guests is Bonzai Pipelines, where riders step into an enclosed vertical capsule and the floor drops out beneath them, sending them free-falling 40 miles-per-hour down the slide
  • Friends and Families – For water lovers of all ages, Bamboo Racer is a fun, six-lane racing experience that plunges riders head first, side-by-side, on specially designed water sleds, down a 45-foot tall slide. Lost Temple Rapids is an exhilarating adventure through 560-feet of pure whitewater rafting bliss. Relax on The River Cruise lazy river and let the current do all the work as you float around the park at a mellow pace;
  • Thrill Seekers in Training – With pint-sized water slides, rain curtains and splashing effects, Splash Island keeps the entire family cool. Starting with the exciting return of Ghost Town Alive! with an all-new storyline, the nighttime block party liveliness of Knott’s Summer Nights and Knott’s Soak City Waterpark reopening its gates for another wet and wild summer. Ghost Town Alive!

Your favorite town of Calico comes to life once again with the return of the award-winning, interactive Ghost Town Alive! Two years have passed without a celebration and the citizens are determined to make this year’s return a great one. Guests are invited to become the star of this summer’s new action- packed storyline in the streets of Ghost Town. Each guest has the power to unlock secret missions with characters, influence the day’s events, and take on mind-challenging puzzles in this immersive version of the Old West. Ghost Town Alive! will offer new adventures, roles and characters this summer on select days starting May 20.

Summertime Entertainment
Venture into Fiesta Village to be charmed by the colorful and light-hearted showing of Alegre! by the Bob Baker Marionettes, a Southern California treasure since 1963. The entertainment continues with

sounds from South of the Border as the Mariachi Angelitas present a lively show filled with rich history and tradition. While in Boardwalk, tune into the coolest station on the dial as our resident K-NOT Radio DJs are back to keep you up to date on all the happenings!

A trip to Knott’s isn’t complete without checking out the shenanigans of Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies in the Wagon Camp. Grab a seat for the most toe tappin’ and downright funniest band of musicians this side of the Calico Mine. Also in Ghost Town is Miss Cameo Kate’s Western Burle-Q Revue at the legendary Bird Cage Theatre. Miss Cameo Kate returns to the World-Famous Birdcage Saloon, bringing with her a vibrant travelin’ troupe of singers, dancers and tuneful musicians who perform a daily rip- roarin’ western musical can-can revue.

Knott’s Summer Nights

The summer adventure continues long after the sun goes down, with a nighttime summer party that will liven up the evening. Knott’s Summer Nights offers a variety of live music, classic summer eats and games for the whole family to enjoy. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of top 40’s bands that rotate throughout the event at the Calico Mine Stage. Those in attendance can also choose between bopping to the beats of the Boardwalk DJs around Charleston Circle Fountain or jamming out to an array of bands, including the genres of Latin, Reggae and Zydeco all performing at Calico Park Stage. Classic backyard games and festoon lighting will set the stage for guests to enjoy their summer nights at Knott’s. The Party Planning Crew of Summer Nights encourages good ol’ fashion fun and games that keep the party going all night.

A summer night party is not complete without an abundance of food and drinks, and no theme park does food quite like Knott’s. The Knott’s culinary team creates tasty twists to classic summer dishes, from Crab Cake Sliders and Korean BBQ Burgers to Vegan Lettuce Wraps– not to mention Peach and Pineapple Shaved Ice. Knott’s Soak City Waterpark

Guests can catch a ride down 23 different speed, tube, and body slides or take a relaxing trip down one of the longest lazy rivers in the country. The 15-acre water park has something for each member of the family, an interactive kid’s area, and for those more adventurous, The Wedge, a rip-roaring raft ride.

It’s official! SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, the innovative, immersive and highly-anticipated themed land, will open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023, and will be the first SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to debut in the United States.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD opened first at Universal Studios Japan to rave consumer and critical reviews in 2021. The U.S. debut of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Hollywood will transport theme park guests and Nintendo fans into the world of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach to become part of their compelling universe.

            SUPER NINTENDO WORLD was conceived in partnership with Nintendo and the visionaries at Universal Creative to deliver exhilarating entertainment with innovative technological achievements inspired by characters and video games that have appealed to generations of Nintendo fans for over 40 years.

The immersive land will be a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly expanded area of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and interactive areas, to be enjoyed by the whole family. Themed shopping and dining will enhance the entireexperience.

To mark the occasion as the countdown begins to the land’s exciting debut, Universal Studios Hollywood will unveil a takeover of its popular Feature Presentation retail store with SUPER NINTENDO WORLD theming, opening soon. Located just inside the theme park’s main entrance, guests will have a chance to share their excitement for the land’s 2023 arrival by gearing up with merchandise such as Mario and Luigi themed apparel and iconic character hats. A selection of plush characters, including Yoshi, Mario Bowser and Luigi in a variety of sizes, will also be among the many fun items available for purchase.

SeaWorld San Diego and Mike Hess Brewing Create a New Limited Release   Emperor Hazy IPA to Celebrate California’s Newest, Tallest and Fastest Dive Coaster, Emperor Opening March 12th!

SeaWorld San Diego and Mike Hess Brewing are tapping into something refreshing by creating a custom IPA that celebrates one of the most anticipated coasters of 2022 by USA Today, Emperor, the tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster in the state, set to open at SeaWorld San Diego to the public on Saturday, March 12.  The all-new limited release beer will be available only at SeaWorld San Diego to the public starting March 2, the same day that Pass Members can start previewing the ride before it opens to the general public. In addition to the great taste, guests can feel good about their beverage selection. Through SeaWorld’s continued partnership with Penguins International to focus on penguin awareness and the conservation needs of this special aquatic bird, a portion of the proceeds from Emperor Hazy IPA will be donated to Penguins International.

“I am excited for the opportunities that partnerships like this can do to enhance the experience for our guests, and what a better time as we launch California’s first floorless dive coaster, said Jim Lake, SeaWorld Park President.  “This partnership allows us to spotlight the ride, the amazing species it is named after and support a cause focused on penguin conservation, education and research efforts. Mike Hess is a great friend of SeaWorld and we look forward to our continued relationship.”

Emperor Hazy IPA is a 7.0% ABV delicious and citrus-forward Hazy India Pale Ale, a relatively new style of IPA in which the vast majority of the hops added to the beer are added at the very end of brewing, leaving all the bitterness out, and causing two desirable effects: first, a massive, citrusy aroma from the beer and, second, an interaction between the hop’s lupulin compounds and the beer’s grains creating a smooth haziness appearance to the beer. Emperor Hazy IPA is crafted with water, barley, wheat, and oats, as well as Citra, Mosaic and Cascade hops. And, like all Mike Hess Brewing’s beers, Emperor Hazy IPA is crafted to reduce gluten, so even guests who are gluten-intolerant may enjoy this ale.

SeaWorld and Mike Hess Brewing have partnered on custom brews for the park since 2015. The first, a fruit-forward IPA was created with the addition of real grapefruit juice to their popular Solis IPA brand. The beer, SeaWorld Solis, was an instant hit with guests and after its limited time at SeaWorld, and due to its popularity, the beer hit bars and grocery stories later that Summer.  Grapefruit Solis was the number one brand for the brewery for over two years.
