Knott’s Berry Farm will kick off its 2018 Seasons of Fun with the addition of the all-new Knott’s

PEANUTS Celebration, uniquely dedicated to celebrating the beloved PEANUTS characters.

Guests can join Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy and the rest of the PEANUTS Gang as the

park celebrates the world that Charles M. Schulz created. The park will be adorned with

Peanuts inspired décor, new character experiences, comic strip inspired photo opportunities,

deliciously themed-treats and new whimsical shows. The Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration will

take place weekends starting January 27 through February 25, 2018, plus Presidents’ Day.

The yummiest season at the Farm keeps growing each year and in 2018 the Knott’s

Boysenberry Festival is expanding to 24 days dedicated to celebrating the historic little berry

that started it all. The event will offer countless one-of-a-kind boysenberry inspired dishes

created in-house by the Knott’s culinary team. Each year the menu ranges from deliciously

sweet desserts to zesty savory dishes, plus tasty beverages all bursting with scrumptious

boysenberry flavors. The event offers a wonderful tasting experience for everyone to indulge in

and features world-class entertainment, music, activities for the whole family, a wine and local

craft beer tasting garden, and so much more. The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival begins March

16, 2018 through April 8, 2018 and is included with park admission.

Summertime at Knott’s will invite thrill seekers to climb aboard HangTime, the first dive coaster

on the West Coast. HangTime will send riders up a vertical lift hill into a 15-story 96-degree

drop – the steepest drop in California. The coaster’s train will come to a halt and will leave

riders suspended for several seconds before descending in a beyond-vertical drop, through

2,189 feet of steel track and five gravity-defying inversions. HangTime will be only the second

rollercoaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature a negative-g stall loop, which gives riders

the sensation of floating. HangTime’s ride structure itself will come to life and illuminate the

Boardwalk area with colorful nighttime track chase lighting that will accompany the coaster

train, as it travels across the track. The new dive coaster is set to open at Knott’s in Summer

2018.

The park’s interactive summer story of the Wild West, Ghost Town Alive!, continues with a

brand new storyline that takes a wild turn for the townsfolks of Calico during summer 2018. At

the end of this past summer’s story, the characters of Ghost Town Alive! discovered gold inside

the Calico Mine and next summer’s story explodes as everyone in town is in the middle of a

Gold Rush. Guests are invited to become a part of the action by joining the hunt with the local

cowboys, cowgirls, shopkeepers and the rest of the townsfolk. Ghost Town Alive! will offer new

adventures, roles, characters and entertainment that will delight guests of all ages during the

wildest season at the farm.

The Seasons of Fun festivities continue through fall and winter for guests and passholders with

the two family celebrations of Knott’s Spooky Farm and Knott’s Merry Farm. Knott’s Spooky

Farm is the daytime family-friendly Halloween celebration which takes place weekends in

October. Knott’s Merry Farm provides the perfect backdrop for your family’s holiday memories

“Hangtime” The Only Dive Coaster on the West Coast to debut at Knott’s Berry Farm in 2018

Before you read my copy and paste 😉 I thought I’d let you in on my thoughts on the new Coaster coming to the Boardwalk next year 🙂 Anyways, I always have had a gut feeling that it would be a Dive Coaster. Knott’s is known for “Firsts”, But had no idea who the manufacturer was going to be, I was hoping for a B&M Dive Machine but they are big coasters, look at Silver Bullet lol. None the less, I think “HangTime” is a great addition to The Farm and Boardwalk area, that whole area will be complete with HangTime opening up next year. The only thing I think could use a little refurb is the midway games, all of them 😉 Otherwise Boardwalk is looking great along with the rest of the park, it has been fun covering the upgrades at Knott’s the last 5 years beginning with the Perilous Plunge removal. Now for Mary’s thoughts 😉

Tim.

Ermmmmmm, I am going to cry the first time I ride it. The 96 Degree Angle of riders just hanging there (hence the name HangTime) is scary and I’m scared lol. But that is because I am a wuss, Tim will help with this fear lol. Overall, I am excited that Knott’s is getting a new coaster. Hooray!!!!!

Knott’s Berry Farm will welcome HangTime, a brand new steel rollercoaster – and the only dive coaster on the West Coast – to the theme park in the 2018 summer season. HangTime will tower 150 feet over the Boardwalk area, showcasing gravity-defying inversions, mid-air suspensions and twisting dive tracks.

HangTime will send riders up a vertical lift hill into a 15-story 96-degree drop – the steepest drop in California. The coaster’s train will come to a halt once the highest peak is reached, and will leave riders suspended at the crest for several seconds staring downward at a 60-degree angle, giving the illusion of a disappearing track. Then the train will suddenly descend in a beyond-vertical drop, through 2,198 feet of steel track and five gravity-defying inversions. HangTime will be only the second rollercoaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature a negative-g stall loop, which gives riders the sensation of floating.

“HangTime’s disappearing track creates a memorable illusion of the unknown as riders feel like they are hanging over a cliff, staring at the ground in nervous anticipation,” said Jon Storbeck, vice president and general manager, Knott’s Berry Farm. “People who crave that adrenaline rush will want to ride this coaster again and again. Introducing a coaster like HangTime firmly positions Knott’s Berry Farm as a must see attraction among Southern California theme parks, and we look forward to welcoming our guests to this new experience.”

HangTime’s ride structure itself will come to life and illuminate the Boardwalk area with colorful nighttime track chase lighting that will accompany the coaster train’s travels across the smooth steel track. The coaster continues Knott’s legacy in rollercoaster innovation and industry firsts; the park introduced the very first corkscrew inversion rollercoaster with Corkscrew, and the first flywheel launch coaster with Montezuma’s Revenge.

HangTime is manufactured by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, GmbH, and is the company’s next-generation “infinity coaster” model.

Guests can experience an entire season of fun including the thrill of HangTime with a 2018 Knott’s Season Pass, on sale now at the best price of the year.
