Buena Park, Calif. – Knott’s Berry Farm has several new additions in store for 2018 including

the debut of the first dive coaster on the West Coast, HangTime, along with the introduction of

the all new Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration, an expanded Knott’s Boysenberry Festival and a

brand new storyline for Ghost Town Alive!. A 2018 season pass offers year-round visits to the

park with no blackout dates and is the best way to experience all of Knott’s Seasons of Fun

throughout the year. Here’s what guests can expect to see at the farm starting next year.

Knott’s Berry Farm will kick off its 2018 Seasons of Fun with the addition of the all-new Knott’s

PEANUTS Celebration, uniquely dedicated to celebrating the beloved PEANUTS characters.

Guests can join Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy and the rest of the PEANUTS Gang as the

park celebrates the world that Charles M. Schulz created. The park will be adorned with

Peanuts inspired décor, new character experiences, comic strip inspired photo opportunities,

deliciously themed-treats and new whimsical shows. The Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration will

take place weekends starting January 27 through February 25, 2018, plus Presidents’ Day.

The yummiest season at the Farm keeps growing each year and in 2018 the Knott’s

Boysenberry Festival is expanding to 24 days dedicated to celebrating the historic little berry

that started it all. The event will offer countless one-of-a-kind boysenberry inspired dishes

created in-house by the Knott’s culinary team. Each year the menu ranges from deliciously

sweet desserts to zesty savory dishes, plus tasty beverages all bursting with scrumptious

boysenberry flavors. The event offers a wonderful tasting experience for everyone to indulge in

and features world-class entertainment, music, activities for the whole family, a wine and local

Summertime at Knott’s will invite thrill seekers to climb aboard HangTime, the first dive coaster

on the West Coast. HangTime will send riders up a vertical lift hill into a 15-story 96-degree

drop – the steepest drop in California. The coaster’s train will come to a halt and will leave

riders suspended for several seconds before descending in a beyond-vertical drop, through

2,189 feet of steel track and five gravity-defying inversions. HangTime will be only the second

rollercoaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature a negative-g stall loop, which gives riders

the sensation of floating. HangTime’s ride structure itself will come to life and illuminate the

Boardwalk area with colorful nighttime track chase lighting that will accompany the coaster

train, as it travels across the track. The new dive coaster is set to open at Knott’s in Summer

2018.

The park’s interactive summer story of the Wild West, Ghost Town Alive!, continues with a

brand new storyline that takes a wild turn for the townsfolks of Calico during summer 2018. At

the end of this past summer’s story, the characters of Ghost Town Alive! discovered gold inside

the Calico Mine and next summer’s story explodes as everyone in town is in the middle of a

Gold Rush. Guests are invited to become a part of the action by joining the hunt with the local

cowboys, cowgirls, shopkeepers and the rest of the townsfolk. Ghost Town Alive! will offer new

adventures, roles, characters and entertainment that will delight guests of all ages during the

wildest season at the farm.

Knott’s Scary Farm Opening Weekend Review and Tips! 2016

Knott’s Scary Farm is finally here, we spent the first 3 nights taking it all in. We’re going to talk about tips, new mazes, experiences and more!

We have spent the whole weekend at the Knott’s Hotel, which was refurbished little over a year ago and it’s the best way to enjoy opening weekend or any night of Scary Farm! They have Scary Farm hotel packages that can gets you a T-Shirt, Fright Lane, Fast Lane, Pre-Scare Dinner at the Hotel, and tickets to the event! The Pre-Scare Dinner is a great way to start the night, you get to visit with the monsters that will end up scaring you later on in the night 😉 Also, you get to take photos with them, and you get into Scary Farm 30 mins early! We recommend going to the backstage mazes first, or whichever maze you would like to go to first. Right now, Shadowlands and Infected are the most popular, Paranormal INC.  still brings in a crowd.

Pass Holders can also get discounts for the Scary Farm Hotel Packages visit https://www.knotts.com/places-to-stay for all the info and reservations.

Tip on the Skeleton Key rooms: We recommend visiting those first, they can get crowed on busy nights and the rooms take time to reset. The rest of the mazes will not be a problem since you have “Fright Lane”.

img_4063

Tip for guests not using Fright Lane: Right now Infected and Shadowlands are the most popular we recommend checking those out first. They are AMAZING!!!

img_5154

Tip for Guests that want to ride the new Ghostrider: The line can get pretty long, lots of people that visit Scary Farm only go to it during Scary Farm. So, try to hit it up at the end of the night because the ride still operates past closing for the remaining line that is there before they rope off the line at closing.

img_5468

FEAR VR

An upcharge virtual reality experience, Mary and I got a change to check it out the night before opening Scary Farm. I was scared lol I don’t like Hospitals very much and…. I don’t want to give out too much but I would defiantly try it out. Its located in Boardwalk (CarnEvil) at The Ballroom near the Log Ride, they have a both set up across from it, its first come first serve so if you want to do this and you don’t have Fright Lanes get to this first

Shadowlands

Hello…. This is Mary putting in my two cents on my favorite new maze of 2016! For many years I have always wanted to see Geishas be incorporated with anything horror… I LOVE Japanese art, culture, history, and above all sushi… mmmmmmmm. LOL, but seriously, this maze is amazing! It does the Japanese horror folklore justice and it is so damn beautiful and rich with detail. There is so many innovative scares, use of technology and the cast is on point! I also love the preshow! It is a beautiful death on the battlefield 3:) You should get yourself over there first thing in the evening because the line gets crazy!! This is a NOT TO MISS attraction at Knott’s Scary Farm! Props to Jon Cooke and his team for putting together this fantastic maze!

Infected

This season of Infected is now a walk through maze and it is amazing, OMG!!! I’ve been a fan of Infected since year one and this is amazingly put together, the details are great, the soundtrack is great and lighting… it’s all wow. It’s full of Easter eggs and scary surprises, we got a sneak peek at it the other night but there were no monsters inside and we have yet to see it with the monsters, but we will soon and I’m sure it’s even more amazing. Props to Jon Cooke and the Team involved. Ya’ll are Amazing J Tim.

The Red Barn

Really enjoyed this one, reminded me of Slaughter House J I like the idea of Hill Billy Red Neck Cannibals very scary plus the maze was done at The Wilderness Dance Hall which already looks like a red barn… also when your inside if you look up, it still looks like a barn 😉 We love the twisted minds of Daniel and Gus.

img_4014

P.S. from Mary….. Fog Rainbows 😉

We will continue to give you tips during Scary Farm and our weekend Video will be up soon.

Knott’s Scary Farm, the largest and most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, has unveiled the 13 haunted attractions that will terrify guests when the event returns for 24 horrifying nights, September 22 – October 31.

New Mazes

Four all-new nightmarish haunted attractions will debut this year; each featuring unearthly surprises, ghoulish monsters and frightening legends that come to life as you step inside.

Shadow Lands (New for 2016): A fulfilling life ensures a soul safe passage into eternity, but what happens to the souls of soldiers slain in battle? Enter the hair-raising Shadow Lands maze and fight off demon samurais whose souls are cursed to rot within the depths of purgatory. Guests will embark on a quest through a sacred shrine, an ancient Japanese temple and into the midst of the shadow lands.

Shadowlands

Red Barn (New for 2016): Take a trip to a blood-soaked barn filled with carnivorous animals seeking to prey on human flesh in the Red Barn gore maze. Legend has it the farmer who owns the barn was transformed into a heinous creature that sends his sadistic sons to ensure his legacy. None dare enter the barn, for those who enter never escape.

The Red Barn

Standalone Skeleton Key Rooms (New for 2016): For the first time, Knott’s Scary Farm will feature standalone Skeleton Key Rooms that are independent from mazes. The four Skeleton Key Rooms will each feature a unique story and theme delivering unparalleled scares, interactive secrets and terrifying surprises:

Visions: Guests must investigate the Green Witch Museum in Ghost Town where it is not the building that is haunted, but the various items contained within. Using a Phantom Finder augmented reality device, guests will be able to identify and witness paranormal activity connected to items from the Sarah Marshall Witch Trial.

ZOZO: People from all over the world claim to have been visited by the demon ZOZO after a spirit board session. Is the demonic entity known as ZOZO real or are spirit boards just a myth?

Slasher: Guests are invited to step into an 80s’ slasher horror film. The masked Angel Maker Killer is on the loose. Every lead has run cold and that’s when you step into the picture. Will you become his next victim?

IMG_2789wtmkPrey: Navigate a hay maze full of dead ends with only a faulty lantern as your guide. You are not alone. Mutant beasts are lurking around every corner.

Key Rooms

Black Ops: Infected (New for 2016): Armed with cutting edge laser guns, brave guests will face off against hordes of zombies in the groundbreaking all-new Black Ops: Infected interactive maze. Small units of guests will battle the zombie apocalypse through blood soaked city streets and an underground sewer system crawling with nearly one hundred ravenous zombies. The high tech innovative experience thrusts guests into the middle of a live-action video game complete with live actors, real time scoring system, kill streak rewards system and interactive targets, including a juggernaut boss zombie. The new attraction is one of the largest mazes ever created in Knott’s Scary Farm history so form your squad and put your zombie apocalypse survival skills to the test in this action packed, one-of-a-kind experience.

New Scare Zone

The Hollow (New for 2016): From within the fog, the legendary Headless Horseman and his army of the undead are ready to unleash a reign of terror in the new scare zone, The Hollow. Guests entering the frightful 6-acre area will be terrorized by the souls of fallen soldiers and local farmers that have escaped their shallow graves.

The Hollow

Returning Favorites

Back by popular demand, Elvira, the legendary Mistress of the Dark, returns to Knott’s Scary Farm in a spectacular all new show, Elvira’s Danse Macabre, featuring insane dance and comedy performances. The one of a kind performance from the Queen of Halloween will transport guests to a masquerade ball full of music, dance and humor. Knott’s Scary Farm will be the exclusive home of Elvira this Halloween season.

ParnormalPARANORMAL, INC. – The Haunting of Hayden Hill: Last year’s groundbreaking Paranormal Inc. maze will return to Knott’s Scary Farm this year. Featuring high flying aerial stunts and scares, guests investigate a haunted hospital where the patients were tortured for decades by deranged doctors and nurses. Demonic spirits of the murdered victims have been detected throughout the mysterious halls, while evil medical staff prowl for new patients to torture.

Dead of WinterThe Dead of Winter: Wendigo’s Revenge – Deep in the frozen tundra, the realm of a treacherous snow queen has been usurped by her evil minion, the horrific wendigo. She may be dead, but her evil spell hasn’t been lifted: The dead cannibals have risen from their snowy graves as hungry creatures feast on the surrounding villages. During the chaos, the queen’s prized possession, the horrific wendigo, has seized control of her throne, ready to prey upon any unsuspecting visitors who enter the borders of its icy domain.

TrickTrick-or-Treat: Take a brave step forward and ring the witch’s doorbell…trick or treat, which will it be?  After surviving her grisly welcome, wander into the Green Witch’s never before seen potion room and bewitched attic. But don’t leave too soon; you’re the special guest at the Green Witch’s deadly dinner party where she and her menacing Tricksters await your arrival.

Tooth FairyThe Tooth Fairy: This twisted tooth fairy steals more than just baby teeth as he drags his victims out their bedroom window and into a world of deranged dentistry. Unbelievable special effects include a blackout room through which guests must feel their way out, a disorienting x-ray strobe light room, and a final encounter with the massive tooth fairy, himself. Say aahhh.

VooDooVoodoo – Order of the Serpent: The haunting legend of Papa Legba continues as guests follow him on his foreboding journey to conjure the serpent demon goddess in the outskirts of New Orleans. Trudge cautiously through the cursed swamps of the Deep South, where creatures search the murky bogs for their next bloody sacrifice and demons curse the innocent with Voodoo hexes.

GunslingerThe Gunslinger’s Grave: A Blood Moon Rises: Deadly howls and a full blood moon mark your impending doom as werewolves overrun the crime stricken old west town. Walk in the bloody footsteps of a betrayed and left for dead gunslinger on his path of retribution against the Skinwalkers.

The Deadly 7, a sadistic crew of terrifying monsters representing each of the seven deadly sins, return to the fog of Knott’s Scary Farm this year. Together they prowl the darkest corners of Scary Farm’s midways and scare zones serving their master, The Green Witch.

The Hanging®: Finding Gory – A live stage show in Calico Square irreverently looks back at the year’s pop culture with killer comedy.  Notorious for its special effects, pyrotechnics and high-flying stunts, The Hanging is a no-holds-barred assault on pop culture’s most infamous moments of the past year.  A must see parody!

160 Acres of Scare Zones

Knott’s Scary Farm is far more than a collection of haunted attractions.  Every night monsters spill out onto the streets and turn theme park midways into murderous scare zones.  From the world famous Ghost Town Streets to the Boardwalk area filled with evil clowns, there’s nowhere to hide in Knott’s Scary Farm.

Ghost Town Streets is the original and largest, most terrifying scare zone that started it all.   Bands of half-human, half-animal monsters prowl the streets and inhabit the fog, while the notoriously startling sliders, lunge from every fog-filled corner of the land.  Fiesta De Los Muertos fuses dance music, colorful costumes, and larger than life stilt walkers in a dance party scare zone.  It’s the ultimate late night celebration of Dia de los Muertos.  On the Boardwalk, clowns crave your undying attention in the CarnEVIL scare zone. New this season, the Hollow scare zone will terrorize guests as the ominous Headless horseman prowls the fog-filled streets along with his army of the undead, treacherously blending into the shadowy night as they frighten all whom they encounter.

Knott’s Scary Farm Opening Night 2015 Review!

Knott’s Scary Farm Opening Night 2015

IMG_25210000 IMG_30740000 Opening night is always fun and exciting at Knott’s Scary Farm; the event that Fans, Haunters, and the creative team behind Scary Farm look forward to all year long! This year The Fright Zone and I did what we could with what time we had, no worries we both have passes and will be back soon enough! So we will cover what we got to see on opening night, so be sure to look out for future reviews.

IMG_25180000 IMG_25870000

We got in 30 mins late so we missed the opening ceremony, one thing I noticed right away that it was not as crazy crowed like last year’s opening nights, I thought with maybe Ghostrider being under refurb that would not help with crowd control but we all know where everyone was at… Infected and Paranormal INC. Sadly we didn’t get to Infected opening night, sorry Jon we will soon 😉 However, let’s just start with Paranormal INC., because OMG!

IMG_25790000

Paranormal INC.

IMG_80480000 IMG_26730000

This has got to be the maze of the year for me, even Mary (AKA: The Fright Zone) thought so too. One of the things that I love most was it had a pre-show with back story and it was full of surprises!

The sets are amazing, the effects are superb, lighting, sound and everything is just OMG! I’ve never seen anything like it, plus the backstory was so cool, so I’m not going to spoil much 😉 But you need to make this one on your must do list while at Scary Farm, get yourself a Fright Lane so you can go over and over and not miss a THING! It’s so amazing I was smiling so much I cried! 😉 The scares were on point classic Haunted House style, which is what I love! Exclent work to Jon Cook, the cast and the team behind the production! You are all Amazing!!!!

My Bloody Clementine

IMG_26230000 IMG_30540000

The mine ride this year has a Haunt overlay with live Monsters since Invasion Below from 2011!

It was nice to see the mine ride with monsters in it again, last year the Mine Ride went under major refurbishment; this made it even better for haunt overlays with a new sound system and new lighting! I know some were worried about Knott’s putting monsters in the mine ride again after the major work done, but, from what it looks like monsters are only near emergency exits and have harnesses on them to protect them from falling onto the tracks! Our first run through was not so good, we got stopped halfway through, but got to try it again! It’s nice, dark and foggy inside; some things you could not see so well, maybe just first night kinks, but never the less it’s a great atddishion to scary farm this season! It reminds me of classic Knott’s Scary Farm (1990s) lets hope maybe they could do something like this on the log ride, simple yet effective! All in all we loved it, great work Daniel and the team! By the way… we were stuck on the mine ride for a total of  30 min. therefore taking up time that we could’ve used to go see The Hanging, other mazes and Infected.

IMG_30530000 IMG_25990000

The Dead of Winter

IMG_30670000 IMG_30580000

This maze was cool, we did got to try out the Key Room and it was full of jump scares! The sets looked great, the space was used very well, they are not using the whole Boardwalk ballroom because they are using the right side for Knott’s Spooky Farm! It was cool to see frozen bodies in the floor, reminds me of a few old mazes from the Halloween Haunt days. Let’s not forget how nice and cold it is in there, it’s the coldest maze at Scary Farm! It’s very White and Bright in there but that doesn’t mean its not scary 😉 Don’t be fooled thinking your safe in the Snow 😉 Great to see another maze by Gus, nice work everyone! By the way, Gus, Mary LOVED the spiders and the Snow Queen 3:)

Voodoo: Order of The Serpent

IMG_26570000

The key room is all new so go check it out, we missed it so next time 😉

Voodoo last year was one of my favorites with jump scares, choose your own adventure and the amazing New Orleans Voodoo theme.

This year a lot has changed, instead of choose your own adventure, it’s just a flow through.

The maze had lots of classic jump scares that most haunted attractions don’t do anymore. The ending is extended and makes more sense now! It’s a great maze, I’m glad they changed it up and made it a lot longer! Great work Jon and the team! Mary still Thinks you are an awesome designer. 😉 *Mary told me to write this and to add the winky face with it* LOL!

Trick or Treat

IMG_26520000 IMG_26490000

This maze has been here since 2012, but it got a much needed make over to renovate it and making it longer! Funny part about the night was this maze scared us the most, we jumped multiple times and it started before we walked into the door hahaha, the monsters were on point! They came at us left and right making us jump! Be sure to go check out the Green Witch’s house! Great Job Team!

Pinocchio Unstrung

IMG_25000000

This maze was one of my favs last year so we gave it a go again. We tried the Key Room, it was funny and scary! The only thing that sucks about the key rooms is you can’t always hear the talent talking; maybe a mic and sound system for the key rooms wouldn’t be a bad idea in the future. I liked how they were miked up in Paranormal INC.

Not too much has changed about Pinnochio, but the monsters are always full of energy! Looks like the cricket at the end got more scary, Mary absolutely loves that Cricket 😉 Great job team! 🙂 See you again soon!

Elvira’s Asylum

IMG_30180000 IMG_30380000

I wasn’t too thrilled about Elvira’s show last season. :/ But WE LOVED this one; the dancing  and acrobatics are amazing, the costumes are perfect and the sets are perfect! The show is funny with lots of boob jokes 😉 Great job to the crew and team behind the show we will definitely be back to see Elvira’s Asylum! Mary would like to add that she absolutely loved the show except the music to the arial preference of the Nympho inmate with the ear driving dubstep.

Knott’s Hotel Pre-Scare Dinner

IMG_8019 IMG_8020

We had dinner at the Hotel before we went to Scary Farm, it’s creepily decorated, dark, with spooky background music, and monsters lurking around. Plus the food is good, it’s Knott’s so of course the food is great. All you can eat buffet for $24.99 each, you also get early entry to Knott’s Scary Farm! Mary would like to add that she loves this experience and it  is soooooooo Delicious and wonderfully spooky; she loves how the monsters are there to interact with the guests. She would also like to add that it is important to go to Scary Farm with a full stomach so you have the energy to be chased by the Street Monsters around the park without being in a bad mood of being hungry.

IMG_8029 IMG_8028 IMG_24660000 IMG_24640000 IMG_24770000 IMG_24820000

That’s all we got to cover this visit! I would like to add that we did get a chance to see “The Deadly Seven” lurk around the scare zones! They are a creepy addition this year; at first I didn’t know what to think about them but once you see them lurking around the fog… it’s creepy 😉 We will be back to cover anything we missed and the Scare Zones mainly so keep an EYE out and thanks for reading! Also, Thank you to all the MONSTERS, Talent, Designers and all the people who brought this amazing event LIFE! 3:)
