Making its debut for the first time at the Pasadena Convention Center December 17th – 19th, 2021, Season’s Screamings will showcase more than 200 sinister vendors and artisans, the dark and foreboding Hall of Yuletide Spirits where haunters from across the Southland have whipped up a ghoulish assortment of mini attractions and displays, live (to use the term loosely) entertainment, and a dedicated stage where panels and presentations will be held throughout the event’s three-day celebration.

Tickets can be purchased at midsummerscream.org/seasons-screamings , including single day or weekend passes. Guests looking for a VIP experience can opt to join “The Naughty List” which included an hour early admission each day, a limited edition pin and credential, and other perks.

Season’s Screamings will be a shopper’s nightmare-come-true, featuring twisted apparel, artwork, handmade props, and holiday gifts from more than 200 vendors including Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, Rhode Montijo, Trick or Treat Studios, Miss Havisham’s Curiosities, and Discount Cemetery. Gremlins and Gremlins 2 fans will have the opportunity to meet and adopt a Mogwai from the (human) star of the films, Zach Galligan throughout the weekend as well.

In keeping with the spirit of Midsummer Scream, Season’s Screamings introduces a brand-new darkened space – the Hall of Yuletide Spirits – where visitors come face-to-face with holiday horrors conjured up by some of the best haunters in Southern California. As guests wander in through a Dickens-inspired set featuring store fronts and a graveyard by CalHauntS, they will find ghostly “Christmas scarolers” and ominous characters from Force of Nature Productions and multiple walk-through attractions and displays such as The Cabin by Insane Haunt Productions, Holiday Fear by the Dreich Society, The Holiday Haunt with No NameYet, and Fear Farm’s Gingerbread House of Horrors.

“Fans of Midsummer Scream know that our iconic Hall of Shadows in Long Beach is a cornerstone of that event,” says Rick West, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Midsummer Scream. “With Season’s Screamings now the second large-scale annual show we produce, it felt only fitting that we give it its own darkened space filled with haunt goodness for fans to experience and enjoy, so the Hall of Yuletide Spirits was created. The Christmas and Halloween seasons go together beautifully; we are certain our guests will absolutely love experiencing the two holidays collide in Pasadena!”

Guests will find multiple photo op locations throughout Season’s Screamings, created by our partners at Leeanna Vamp and the Fiends, Bearded Lady’s Mystic Museum, Spooksieboo, Trick

or Treat Studios, SpeedZone Los Angeles, and a special opportunity to meet and greet with actor Robert Mukes appearing as “Santa Mukes” to round-out your holiday wish list!

Live entertainment and fantastic performances will thrill guests all weekend, with Poltergeists and Paramours Christmas Spooktacular featuring a variety of performers kicking things off Friday night, December 17th, a Krampus procession each day through the Convention Center, and strolling Christmas Scarolers from Force of Nature Productions.

On the presentation stage, guests can sit in on panel discussions, performances, and live podcast recordings throughout the weekend. The lineup includes themed entertainment industry legend Garner Holt of Garner Holt Productions discussing helping bring Haunted Mansion Holiday to Disneyland, Fangoria’s Colors of the Dark live podcast recording as hosts hosts Rebekah McKendry and Elric Kane discuss Holiday Horror on Film, a special presentation of Krampus: The Devil You Don’t Know with leading expert and Krampus LA founder Al Ridenour, and our Halloween 2021 Roundtable with haunt aficionados Rick West from Midsummer Scream, Shawn Marshall from Parks and Cons, Chloe Noelle from CloeIRL, and Josh Quillin, creator of Epic Home Haunts.

More presentations and announcements are yet to come in the days and weeks ahead!

OINGO BOINGO DANCE PARTY ANNOUNCED AS HEADLINER FOR MIDSUMMER SCREAM’S NOCHE DE LOS MUERTOS BASH!

Johnny Vatos, Steve Bartek, John Avila and Other Original Members of Oingo Boingo Set to Rock Long Beach Convention Center During Nighttime Party on Saturday, July 30th, 2016

LOS ANGELES, May 11, 2016 – Let’s have a party, there’s a full moon in the sky! Midsummer Scream is thrilled to announce Oingo Boingo Dance Party will headline its Noche de los Muertos (Night of the Dead) celebration and costume contest at the Long Beach Convention Center Saturday evening July 30th, 2016.
Oingo Boingo Dance Party is comprised of former Oingo Boingo members Johnny Vatos, Steve Bartek, John Avila, Sam “Sluggo” Phipps, Carl Graves and Doug Lacy, along with a host of other wildly-talented musicians that keep the legacy of the iconic band alive and thriving for fans of multiple generations.
Known for their unique sound which includes explosive percussion, electrifying guitar riffs and a full horns section, Oingo Boingo’s extensive song catalogue includes Only a Lad, Little Girls, Weird Science, No One Lives Forever, and the venerable Dead Man’s Party. The band hosted Halloween shows in Irvine each year at the height of its popularity, with thousands of “Tender Lumplings” – the given nickname for their adoring fans – showing up in costumes and skeletal makeup, as the underlying thematic style of the group commonly centered around Dia de los Muertos.
“Oingo Boingo was synonymous with Halloween here in Southern California in the ‘80s and ‘90s,” said Rick West, Creative Director of Midsummer Scream. “What better way to launch our event than a concert featuring these legendary performers doing what they do best as Oingo Boingo Dance Party? To me, bringing these musicians and the haunt and horror community together under one roof is a no-brainer. They’re going to bring the house down!”
Oingo Boingo Dance Party will headline Midsummer Scream’s 21+ nighttime event, Noche de los Muertos, featuring a Best & Worst of the ‘80s Costume Contest, which will be judged by the band members themselves during the middle of their 90-minute concert performance. Midsummer Scream attendees are encouraged to dress up in their best – or worst – ‘80s Halloween costumes and strut their stuff across the stage as Johnny Vatos, Steve Bartek, John Avila, Sluggo and the gang cast final judgment!
For the ultimate Boingo fans in attendance, a limited amount of “Tender Lumpling Experience” passes are now available for purchase, which offers admission to the Noche de los Muertos party, as well as a personal meet-and-greet opportunity with the band that includes photos and autograph signing prior to the concert.
“Having Oingo Boingo Dance Party as part of our event was something the team wanted to do from the get-go,” said Gary Baker, Executive Producer of Midsummer Scream. “Very quickly, Johnny Vatos and the band were interested, which set everything in motion. We’re going to put on a show that no one will soon forget.”
Face-painters will be on hand to transform guests into fearsome skeletons or sweet sugar skulls if they’d like before and during the party for a small price – perhaps a golden coin, or a shiny silver dollar on either eye.
Tickets for Noche de los Muertos featuring Oingo Boingo Dance Party are now on sale at http://www.MidsummerScream.org, and will be sold throughout the day Saturday July 30th including at the door. Tender Lumpling Experience passes will sell out extremely fast – there is a frightfully limited supply!
