The PEANUTS-inspired festivities will continue at the Bird Cage Theatre as the park offers an experience that gives both the young and the young at heart a lesson on how to draw their favorite PEANUTS characters. The PEANUTS Sketch School will include our resident art teacher, who will provide step-by-
step instructions on creating the perfect PEANUTS masterpiece. At Calico’s Town Hall, a new family- friendly, PEANUTS-inspired exhibit will be open for guests to experience. The new exhibit, Take Care with PEANUTS, invites us to laugh together at the fun and foibles of the PEANUTS Gang as they grapple with some of life’s biggest questions and ideas. Guests can take a look at the inspiration behind some of the most popular themes in PEANUTS through Schulz’s comic strips, photos, and drawings.
Join in on a Western escapade with Franklin and Linus as they transform into cowboys in the PEANUTS Cowboy Jamboree at Calico Park. The boys are looking to challenge guests with some of the rootiniest, tootinest games in Calico. Also in Ghost Town is Pigpen’s Pig Pen, where everyone’s favorite messy pal will be joining the rest of the PEANUTS Gang as he hosts a special meetup at the Livery Stables with some of his favorite animal friends.
Venture into Camp Snoopy, where the Camp Snoopy Theater will now feature the Music Goes ‘Round and Around during the day. Sally and Schroeder will host a retrospect of melodies sure to make the audience dance in the aisles. Don’t forget to hop aboard the Grand Sierra Railroad to experience a one- of-a-kind adventure as riders travel with the PEANUTS Gang to the Beagle Bonanza in this fun ride overlay.
While visiting Fiesta Village, guests can uncover an experience guaranteed to make everyone dance – Discoteca de Silencio or silent disco. The fun begins with guests strapping on a set of headphones and enjoying some upbeat tunes. Snoopy’s brother, Spike, hosts the party bound to be the most fun guests can experience while quiet in Spike’s Silent Disco.
The celebration doesn’t stop there! Just in time for PEANUTS Celebration, the DJs of K-NOT Radio, the hippest station on the Boardwalk, are spinning PEANUTS music. You might even hear a special guest or two, so be sure to tune in. The fun continues at Boardwalk BBQ, where you can grab a seat (and a plate!) to enjoy the smooth sounds of The James Street Trio that will transport you to the hometown of the PEANUTS Gang with their tribute to the music of Vince Guaraldi.

“Hangtime” The Only Dive Coaster on the West Coast to debut at Knott’s Berry Farm in 2018
Before you read my copy and paste 😉 I thought I’d let you in on my thoughts on the new Coaster coming to the Boardwalk next year 🙂 Anyways, I always have had a gut feeling that it would be a Dive Coaster. Knott’s is known for “Firsts”, But had no idea who the manufacturer was going to be, I was hoping for a B&M Dive Machine but they are big coasters, look at Silver Bullet lol. None the less, I think “HangTime” is a great addition to The Farm and Boardwalk area, that whole area will be complete with HangTime opening up next year. The only thing I think could use a little refurb is the midway games, all of them 😉 Otherwise Boardwalk is looking great along with the rest of the park, it has been fun covering the upgrades at Knott’s the last 5 years beginning with the Perilous Plunge removal. Now for Mary’s thoughts 😉
Tim.
Ermmmmmm, I am going to cry the first time I ride it. The 96 Degree Angle of riders just hanging there (hence the name HangTime) is scary and I’m scared lol. But that is because I am a wuss, Tim will help with this fear lol. Overall, I am excited that Knott’s is getting a new coaster. Hooray!!!!!
– Mary

Contest Winners! The other 2 didnt show 😦 Thanks for playing, maybe ther will be more opportunities like this in the future stay tuned 😉
Knott’s Berry Farm will welcome HangTime, a brand new steel rollercoaster – and the only dive coaster on the West Coast – to the theme park in the 2018 summer season. HangTime will tower 150 feet over the Boardwalk area, showcasing gravity-defying inversions, mid-air suspensions and twisting dive tracks.

HangTime will send riders up a vertical lift hill into a 15-story 96-degree drop – the steepest drop in California. The coaster’s train will come to a halt once the highest peak is reached, and will leave riders suspended at the crest for several seconds staring downward at a 60-degree angle, giving the illusion of a disappearing track. Then the train will suddenly descend in a beyond-vertical drop, through 2,198 feet of steel track and five gravity-defying inversions. HangTime will be only the second rollercoaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature a negative-g stall loop, which gives riders the sensation of floating.

“HangTime’s disappearing track creates a memorable illusion of the unknown as riders feel like they are hanging over a cliff, staring at the ground in nervous anticipation,” said Jon Storbeck, vice president and general manager, Knott’s Berry Farm. “People who crave that adrenaline rush will want to ride this coaster again and again. Introducing a coaster like HangTime firmly positions Knott’s Berry Farm as a must see attraction among Southern California theme parks, and we look forward to welcoming our guests to this new experience.”

HangTime’s ride structure itself will come to life and illuminate the Boardwalk area with colorful nighttime track chase lighting that will accompany the coaster train’s travels across the smooth steel track. The coaster continues Knott’s legacy in rollercoaster innovation and industry firsts; the park introduced the very first corkscrew inversion rollercoaster with Corkscrew, and the first flywheel launch coaster with Montezuma’s Revenge.

HangTime is manufactured by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, GmbH, and is the company’s next-generation “infinity coaster” model.
Guests can experience an entire season of fun including the thrill of HangTime with a 2018 Knott’s Season Pass, on sale now at the best price of the year. A Regular Season Pass includes unlimited admission in 2018 to Knott’s Berry Farm with no blackout dates, and a Gold Season Pass includes unlimited admission in 2018 to both Knott’s Berry Farm and the newly expanded Knott’s Soak City Waterpark with no blackout dates. Regular passes are just $92 or nine easy payments of $10.22 and Gold Season Passes are $110 or nine payments of just $12.22. These offers end October 29, 2017. Applicable taxes and fees apply online. Payment plans are only available at knotts.com.

VR Showdown in Ghost Town
Get ready to enter a time machine and go back in time to defend the town of Calico from an army of robots! This new attraction is not only action packed and so much fun, but it is also brining the innovation of Virtual Reality to a theme park setting. When Tim and I tried this attraction this past Tuesday evening, our minds were blown away!

There is so much love and care for the park that went into this attraction. When you are in the queue, there are easter eggs for Knotts fans to discover and there you can watch the pre-show and learn the backstory of the adventure you will embark on. The details are so amazing! For those of you worried about a theming clash by having a Ghost Town attraction in Boardwalk, Don’t You Fear! The facade, queue and attraction falls in theming continuity with Iron Reef with steam punk elements. It honestly feels like an extension of the Iron Reef world, so it fits in PERFECTLY inside the Boardwalk Arcade.

Then you are escorted to your time traveling pod by scientists who are experts in the field of time travel and the space time continuum. They prepare you for what is to come by equipping you with your VR headset, headphones and your weapon. I am not going to spoil the actual experience for you but all I can say is it is fully immersive, thrilling, and so much fun! When Tim and I were screaming at the surprises, yelling at the things coming right at us, and I even went “pew pew” mimicking the laser gun in my hand. LOL. We REALLY got into it.

The technology will leave you astounded and in awe. In this attraction, you are free to move around freely to battle the robots. It honestly feels like you are transported into the wild west of Calico, any way you turn there are enemies all around you. No worries about running into your friends or into anything while you are playing, you can clearly tell within the experience where your friends and where the boundaries are. You can stand, crouch, back away, dodge, and move around the space as you want and need to. Tim and I were on the floor at times, LOL. This is a one of a kind VR system and as it is stated in Knotts’ press release, “No consumer VR platform allows multiple users to move around this large of a play space, and WITHOUT the limitation of cables connecting users to the PCs, players are free to move around each other and the space to take advantage of the full-motion nature of the system.”

Here are a couple of tips from us that we learned and hope that it will assist you on your mission to save our beloved Calico! The glowing power ups that appear, to access them you must swipe your weapon through it, don’t shoot it. Follow the objectives you are assigned while you are on your mission, it will help you succeed. And above all, don’t get hit by the enemies or debris created by the chaos, you WILL lose points. Also, don’t move past the grids, when you play it, you will understand.

This is truly a unique experience that you can only can only experience at Knott’s Berry Farm! This is the VERY FIRST Free Roaming VR Experience and it is so mind blowing. Wow, how far technology has come. We HIGHLY recommend you experience this New attraction, it is so Worth the upcharge! Have fun with it, Tim and I were all over the place and having a blast. It is a blast to the past, hehhehehhehehehhehe. Fans of Knott’s Berry Farm, thrill seekers, video game lovers, theme park lovers, and so many people will love this. We are definitely going to go through this attraction again and again! And here is the great part about playing it multiple times, the experience will change every time… and hey, you can even try to beat that high score.
Boomerang’s Grand Exit! The sun sets on Boomerang for the last time on April 23!
Knott’s Berry Farm says goodbye to the park’s veteran rollercoaster, Boomerang on April 23rd. Riders will have one last chance to ride the reverse shuttle rollercoaster starting now and throughout the duration of Knott’s annual springtime Boysenberry Festival which kicks off April 1-23.

The 27 year-old rollercoaster has been a staple in the recently renovated Boardwalk area, replacing the historic “Roaring 20’s Corkscrew” in 1990. Since its opening, Boomerang has taken thrill-seekers on an enthralling two minute ride forward and backwards on its 875-foot track.
Guests will have the opportunity to take a last ride on Boomerang during the popular Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, a celebration of Knott’s Berry Farm’s historic roots anchored by the flavorful boysenberry. Newly expanded this year to 23 days, Knott’s will be showcasing a unique selection of over 75 boysenberry-inspired items from tasty food creations and rare wines to one-of-a kind merchandise that commemorates Knott’s renowned history.
For over 75 years, Knott’s has created memories for families and park goers of all ages; the park has been home to multiple thrilling rollercoasters and family attractions. The park’s team will continue to assist in strategically advancing the park’s development as it continues to grow throughout the years along with our guests.
