Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort celebrate the return of the popular Butterbeer™ Season, a dedicated, annual tradition that invites guests and fans to enjoy all things Butterbeer within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. Butterbeer Season begins on Saturday, March 1 and continues daily through Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Reminiscent of butterscotch and shortbread, Butterbeer is a favorite amongst witches and wizards. It is currently available for purchase in an array of scrumptious options, including cold, frozen, hot and non-dairy beverages, along with Butterbeer fudge, potted cream and ice cream.
This year’s celebration at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort will introduce an all-new Butterbeer Cream Puff just for the season, available at the Three Broomsticks™, where guests can also savor frozen or cold Butterbeer in a limited-edition Gold Souvenir Stein. Additionally, a Butterbeer-Flavoured Chocolate Bar and Butterbeer Caramel will be available at retail locations and the Ice Lolly frozen dessert makes a delicious return. This tempting ice bar will now be available year-round.
A bespoke Butterbeer themed merchandise collection will also take centerstage as part of Butterbeer Season. The inspiring line is designed to offer wizard, witches and muggles a chance to celebrate Butterbeer during and beyond their visit to the theme parks. Here, wizards and non-magiques alike will be enamored with the majestic grandeur and enchanting ambiance of the city as they cast dazzling spells throughout the magical streets using interactive wands, encounter fantastic beasts at a traveling circus, and – for the first time ever within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – travel across countries and time to 1990s London using the Métro-Floo for a thrilling adventure set inside the iconic British Ministry of Magic.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will feature the unmatched levels of immersion and attention to detail fans have come to expect from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Below is a look at the exciting new wonders waiting to be discovered in this spectacular new world:
• Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry – With its unique combination of massive environments, powerful storytelling and first-of-its-kind ride technology, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry builds upon the historic theme park innovation Universal is known for – and will be one of its most impressive attractions to date. The adventure begins when guests travel by Métro-Floo – a unique mode of wizarding transit inspired by the iconic Floo Network seen in the films – to journey from wizarding Paris to the British Ministry of Magic for the long-awaited trial of the infamous Dolores Umbridge. Upon arrival, guests will enter the Ministry’s jaw-dropping grand atrium and venture through other departments before boarding magical, omnidirectional lifts to watch the trial take place…until Umbridge attempts to escape. Guests then join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and a house-elf named Higgledy in a thrilling chase that will propel them up, down, forward, backward, sideways and more throughout the Ministry as they try to capture Umbridge – all while dodging attacks from Death Eaters, rampaging creatures and more along the way.
• Le Cirque Arcanus – For the first time ever in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, guests will enjoy a live, full-scale theatre experience in the heart of the land with Le Cirque Arcanus. This spectacular show features live performers and aerialists, amazing puppetry, brilliant special effects and more to take guests on a whirlwind journey where they’ll encounter fantastic beasts like never before. The show follows Ringmaster Skender, who has stolen Newt Scamander’s suitcase – where Demiguise, Diricawl, Mooncalves and more reside – to try and bring the failing Le Cirque Arcanus back to its former glory. It’s then up to circus employee Gwenlyn to rescue these creatures before they end up in Skender’s greedy hands forever.
• Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique – Guests can shop some of the world’s finest wands designed by esteemed artisan wandmaker, Cosme Acajor, in the premier Parisian wand shop, Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique. In addition to popular imports from Ollivanders, visitors will find a selection of exquisite wands packaged in unique three-sided boxes – each containing a list of locations throughout the wizarding world where guests can practice casting spells.
• Inspiring Wand Magic – As guests explore the streets of wizarding Paris, they can use their interactive wands to create magical experiences as they cast spells at various locations, interact with fantastic beasts such as Nifflers, Bowtruckles and a Demiguise, and engage with enchanted objects in many of the storefront windows plus other areas throughout the marvelous Place Cachée.

Sesame Place® San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, today announced the official opening date of the All-New interactive dining experience, Dine with Elmo & Friends, on May 31 at the All-New Sunny Day Café. The immersive experience allows guests to dine alongside their favorite furry friends and experience exclusive entertainment including singing, dancing, and photo opportunities. Season Pass Members will be the first to experience the All-New Dine with Elmo & Friends.

Dine with Elmo & Friends takes place in the All-New Sunny Day Café, an air-conditioned, indoor dining room on the Sesame Street Neighborhood that can seat up to 160 guests. Each Dine with Elmo & Friends experience is approximately one hour long and includes a tasty buffet-style family meal and exclusive entertainment the whole family will love!

Slashers is a horror-themed axe-throwing bar in Costa Mesa. Enjoy playing our axe-throwing version of battle stations, tic-tac-toe, alien invasion, and other fun games while you drink some of our hand-picked craft ales.
Owners and creators Luke and Madison Rhoades are theatre people who always try to elevate their experiences with special effects, stories, and immersive atmospheres. All-New Santa’s Grand Illumination Ceremony – On November 10, the park will light an all-new 24-foot Christmas tree for the first time. This interactive ceremony will include special performances from Jingle Bell the Elf, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and Rosita. Santa Claus will also make a very special appearance to share Christmas joy and holiday cheer with all the park guests!
All-New Christmas Lights – New this season, guests will see Sesame Place transformed into a one-of-a-kind Christmas wonderland with thousands of twinkling, colorful lights around the park.

Sesame Place® San Diego, the first theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street®, is about to get even furrier. Elmo’s adopted puppy, Tango, will find her fur-ever home at Sesame Place San Diego on Saturday, February 4. The BRAND-NEW floppy-eared, tail wagging puppy will debut at the park as an all-new meet & greet character, where guests will see her for the first time at her welcome ceremony.
A sweet and spirited puppy named after her love of music and dancing, Tango debuted in the 2021 animated special Furry Friends Forever: Elmo Gets a Puppy, in which Elmo finds a stray Tango and adopts her. Tango then joined Sesame Street’s 52nd season in both animated and live-action format. Tango’s arrival at Sesame Place will be celebrated during operating days, every Saturday and Sunday in February, plus Friday, February 17, and Monday, February 20.
Tango’s Welcome Ceremony – The park will officially welcome Tango on February 4 at 12:00 p.m. at the Dance Party Stage.
Elmo & Tango’s Welcome Day Scavenger Hunt – Guests can search throughout the park for all the items that Elmo needs to take care of Tango. Guests can turn in completed scavenger hunt sheets at Hooper’s Store for their choice of pet-themed prizes: Sesame Place bandanas or tennis balls. Self-guided scavenger hunts run throughout the day while supplies last.
Tango’s Treat Seek – Tango’s Treat will be secretly hidden in the park on select dates. The first person to find Tango’s Treat will receive Sesame Street-themed pet prizes from BarkBox.
Sesame Street Party Parade – Guests will be able to spot Sesame Place’s newest resident in the daily, award-winning parade. This colorful, energetic parade gets the whole family singing and dancing and features fantastic floats for fans of all ages to enjoy.
Meet-and-Greets – Tango will be wagging her tail in delight to take photos and interact with guests on select days. Season Pass Members will have the first chance to meet Tango and take photos with her in exclusive Meet & Greets at the Sesame Street Theater on Saturday, February 4. Reservations are required and can be made within Season Pass Members’ online portals.
Pet Adoption Weekend – To celebrate Tango’s debut, guests can meet rescue dogs just like Tango along with other animals at Sesame Place Adoption Days on Friday, February 25, and Saturday, February 26, from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Sesame Place San Diego to Make a Big Splash in 2023 with Two New Attractions
Sesame Place® San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, will be adding two ALL-NEW attractions in 2023. The Count’s Splash Castle is an ALL-NEW, multi-level water-play attraction and Sunny Day Café is an ALL-NEW, all-day character dining location where guests can enjoy a variety of meals and one-of-a-kind experience with their favorite furry friends. In addition to the exciting new attractions at the park in 2023, guests can enjoy whirling rides, splashy water slides, exciting shows, parades, the interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood, and visits with everyone’s favorite furry friends.
Splash, Play, and Eat
The ALL-NEW Count’s Splash Castle, is a multi-level, interactive water-play attraction that features 111 play elements, including two giant tipping buckets that dump over 1,300 gallons of water combined. There are three exciting water slides, plus soakers, flow pipes, hose jets, spray jets, water shooters, water curtains, tipping troughs, spinning and sliding buckets, and much more! The ALL-NEW Count’s Splash Castle replaces the former splash area and is double the size of the previous attraction. The ALL-NEW Count’s Splash Castle will be bigger and splashier than ever before!
At the ALL-NEW Sunny Day Café, guests can join their favorite furry friends for a dining adventure the whole family will love! The new indoor and air conditioned 5,000 square foot building is where families will make precious memories and enjoy delicious family-friendly buffet-style meals! Throughout the year, there will be special event opportunities and dine activities every season, including Dine with Elmo & Friends. The new café will seat up to 160 guests and at each meal, and Sesame Street characters will join diners for an immersive experience with singing, dancing, and photo opportunities.
Sesame Place offers multiple food locations for quick bites with a delicious variety of entrée options and sweet treats. New in 2023, guests can also grab snacks and beverages at the ALL-NEW Big Bird’s Beach Bites location near Big Bird’s Beach. For added convenience, mobile ordering for select restaurants is available through the Sesame Place app.

Banish the evil spirit and lift your curse in the newest escape room adventure, The Weeping Witch, by Cross Roads Escape Games! Using their theatrical background, owners Madison and Luke Rhoades create immersive sets, special effects, and show moments in their newest game.
The Weeping Witch is a monster disguised as a human. It lures people close by mimicking the sound of a woman crying. When people hear its wails, they follow the sound, thinking someone needs their help. Once they get close enough, the Witch reveals a mouth on the back of its head and slowly sucks the life out of its victims. If you choose to enter Madam Ruby’s study, that is what is awaiting you. Will you be able to banish the evil spirit and end your curse before the Weeping Witch consumes your soul?
Luke and Madison elevated the escape room industry with their award-winning games The Hex Room, The Fun House, The Psych Ward, and the 2019 immersive theatre experience, The Séance. This husband-and-wife team is determined to break the ‘escape room’ mold and create more unique, interactive, theatrical games.
The Weeping Witch is opening on Friday, September 9th, 2022. Tickets are $38 per person. The game is 60 minutes long for 3-8 players over the age of 14.
